Twin Tree Towers is located at the southeast corner of the 600-year-old capital of Korea, Gyeongbuk Palace.  The site sits at the intersection of 3 major cultural areas in Seoul, Gwanghaemun and the Gyengbuk Palace, Insadong, and Samchungdong.  These are all densely populated and active historical districts in Seoul.

With pedestrian traffic, the site is in the axis of all three areas with extraordinary views of the Gyeongbuk Palace, Inwang mountain, and Bugak mountain.  The space between the two towers provides public access between these three areas with places to rest, drink and converse.

In front of Gyeongbuk Palace and Dongsipjagak, the center of history and a landmark in the city center of Gwanghomun.

The city consists of an assortment of natural, humanistic and artificial flows.  Flows of people, water, traffic, wind and lines generate a distinctive urban energy.  It is this unique urban energy and site conditions that Twin Tree Tower strives to physically encapsulate, uniting the forces that bind.

Favorably split pieces gain weight because they become difficult to level. The shape, a three-dimensional curved surface, depicts the base of an old tree with uneven grooves.  We design interiors that conform to the unit plane, with three-dimensional curved surfaces to connect and arrange innovative ropes.
In particular, the location of the atypical curved surface and the closed geometric structure strengthened the dynamism of the interior.
